This position would be based at our VersaBank Innovation Center of Excellence (VICE) location at 1979 Otter Place in London, ON. We anticipate this position being a combination of remote and in-office for the time being.

Key Responsibilities

The Quality Assurance Developer is responsible for ensuring the high quality of VersaBank’s software by verifying that software functionality conforms to business requirements. You will support the development, testing, and test automation for VB’s asset systems. You will be part of a highly skilled and versatile team working in a fast-paced environment. You will be involved in test planning, writing test cases/scripts, test case automation, and test execution. Daily responsibilities will include the following:

•Set-up test frameworks and help teams setup automation infrastructure
•Develop and execute [automated] test scenarios for testing of both front-end (Web) and back-end operations (APIs, Deployment, Scaling, etc)
•Create, maintain, and improve automated test suites for applications
•Work with developers to ensure that all features and bug fixes come with automated test coverage
•Create, execute, and automate test scenarios from use cases for existing and new solutions
•Identify and implement ways to provide efficiencies to test cycles
•Analyze and troubleshoot issues
•Interact with team members to analyze complex projects and break them down into detailed and functional tasks
•Assist with the creation and analysis of test results
•Advocate for quality and the user experience
•Create test strategies in collaboration with the Agile team that consider all phases of testing, such as unit, integration, API, feature testing, design, accessibility, compatibility, performance and load, regression, etc.
•Own the continuous improvement of quality processes including, required documentation, testing processes, and the overall quality of the agile team’s software

•Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary accreditation in a related Technical, Scientific or Engineering discipline
•Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in the areas specified above or a related field
•Proven experience designing and creating automation frameworks and test suites
•Experience testing RESTful API’s through Postman collections
•Experience with Selenium
•Experience writing test strategies and creating test cases
•Experience with Angular UI framework
•Experience with Git version control
•Experience setting up, modifying, and maintaining CI systems (Devops preferred)

The successful candidate has excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to work independently or as part of a team. They are self-starter who is detail-oriented, highly organized and efficient. You are customer-focused and results driven and are able to work under tight timelines. Project management skills are an asset.
