As a Linux Systems Administrator you will work closely with senior staff to maintain the bank’s IT infrastructure, while adding to the existing infrastructure of Kernel-based VM hosts and guests and improving/automating as much as possible.

This position will be based at our VersaBank Innovation Center of Excellence (VICE) location at 1979 Otter Place in London, ON. This position is based full-time in-office.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle systems installation, inventory, maintenance, and support
• IT operations automation (coding)
• Monitor systems health
• Documentation
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a related Technical field
• 2 years of hands-on experience in Linux (any distribution), ideally as a home user
• Willingness to learn and provide end-user support
• Ability to work with a team to solve complex problems as well as do independent research
• Experience with Windows Server an asset
• Familiarity with Windows 10/11 and Office 365
• Experience writing code using modern programming / scripting languages.
• Excellent analytical skills and a creative approach to problem solving
• Knowledge of current technological developments/trends
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of responsibilities/stakeholders
