Reporting to the Chief Internal Auditor, you will assist in evaluating the adequacy, efficiency and effectiveness of controls encompassing the organization’s governance, risk management process, business operations, legal and regulatory requirements, and information systems for the parent company and its subsidiaries. As a member of VersaBank’s Internal Audit Function, you will get to see the ‘big picture’ and have significant opportunities for career growth due to VersaBank’s entrepreneurial business model and small Internal Audit Function.
•Assisting in all phases of internal audit projects, including planning, testing, identification of issues, development of recommendations and preparation of audit reports.
•Interacting with Bank staff members and assessing their tasks to identify areas where operations can be made more efficient.
•Performing follow-up on the status of outstanding internal audit recommendations.
•Assist in the ongoing development and implementation of the effective use of internal audit management software, technology and data analytics to deliver timely identification, monitoring and reporting of risk exposures.
•Occasional travel to various VersaBank offices will be required to conduct audit activities.

•A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and/or Business Administration or other related field with a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation and 3 – 5 years of internal / external audit or compliance related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
•Knowledge of accounting, finance and internal control areas is required.
•Experience in the financial industry is an asset.
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications, strong Excel skills including pivot tables.
•Experience with data analytics and Microsoft PowerBi is an asset.
•Experience with audit software is an asset.
•Willingness to learn internal audit theories, trends and best practices.
